Uzone.id – Wuling continues to strive to develop the Bingo EV not only into one type of car but also to expand into a segment that is currently on the rise in the world, namely SUVs.

After launching the Bingo EV hatchback, Wuling plans to make the Bingo EV SUV which it hopes will be a trigger to increase sales of SAIC and GM electric cars in China.

Bingo SUV is based on the company Peron Tian Yu M and the car itself is a continuation of the Bingo Plus design but in the form of an SUV.

Launch Carnewschina, the five-door, five-seater car will be available in three configurations, offering a range of 330 km, 401 km, and 510 km.

Currently, the only known dimensions are a wheelbase of 2610 mm, the same as the Bingo Plus. The Tianyu M platform is designed for EVs between 3500-4600 mm.

Wuling considers this a mid-sized car, although, by other people’s standards, it is a compact car. Therefore, the Wuling Bingo SUV will likely fall into this range and will probably be very similar to the hatchback in size at 4090, 1720, and 1575 mm. Of course, being an SUV, the car should be slightly taller than a hatchback.

At the front, the SUV has a closed face with two air deflectors on the sides and a grille at the bottom of the fender. The headlight group is a bit dark.

15-inch aluminum alloy windbreak rims are used, which are said to reduce drag by 13%, meaning an increase in range of up to 20 km.

At the rear, this SUV has a taillight design similar to that used by the Bingo Plus. Buyers can choose from four colors: Milk Coffee White, Glass Red, Storm Grey, and Aurora Green.

High-strength steel accounts for 74.8% of the vehicle and is used in the car’s five-ring body structure. High-strength hot-stamping steel with a tensile strength of more than 1500 is placed in 22 places on the Bingo SUV. It comes with four airbags and ESC stability control as standard.

At the front, this Bingo SUV uses a MacPherson suspension, and at the rear, it uses a non-independent suspension with a hydroformed close torsion beam.

Inside, buyers have a choice of two colors: Airland Green and Warm Sand White. There’s a floating instrument cluster and infotainment screen. The driver gets a six-way electrically adjustable seat.

Other equipment includes reverse sensors, auto-hold parking, keyless entry and start, and a one-button lift for all four electric windows with an anti-pinch function.

There are 23 storage spaces spread throughout the car. The rear seats have a split-folding ratio of 6:4, and when the seats are lowered, the car’s storage capacity becomes 1,450 liters.

The Wuling Bingo SUV is powered by a 3-in-1 water-cooled flat wire motor with a maximum power of 75 kW and peak torque of 180 Nm. As is usually the case with such small cars, the acceleration figure is only stated as a 0-50 km/h time, namely 3.7 seconds.

Depending on the version, the all-electric range using CLTC measurements is 330 km, 401 km, and 510 km. Energy consumption is claimed to be as low as 10.1 kWh/100 km and the cost of driving 100 km is only 0.85 USD.

Meanwhile, for specifications and other features, we will bring you more details about the Wuling Bingo SUV as they become available.

It should be noted that Wuling is a joint venture with SAIC’s main owner with 50.1% shares, followed by GM with 44%, and the remainder belonging to Liuzhou, Guangxi Province, which is based in Wuling.

Moreover so far this year it is the best-selling business unit for SAIC and perhaps the only bright spot for General Motors in China.
